| Hi everyone! Here is a tutorial showing how to play the HL1 mod Sven Co-Op with Half-Life nonsteam
What You Will need: DZ's CS 1.6 nonsteam or some other HL nonsteam game (I recommended Kingsoft's release: http://kingsoft.netfirms.com/HL.htm or Half-Life Singleplayer Pack [DiGiTALZoNE] Sven 3.0 Installer .exe file (found here: http://www.svencoop.com/files.php
Instructions:
1. Install DZ's CS 1.6 standalone release, Half-Life Singleplayer Pack [DiGiTALZoNE], or Kingsoft's Half-life release 2. Install Sven Co-Op to a temporary folder (i recommend C:\sven) NOTE: the installer will know that it will be extracting the files to a directory that isn't you hl directory. Just click install anyway. 3. Copy the folder "SvenCoop" and the file "fmod.dll" from the temporary sven folder to your half-life folder (ie: C:\Program Files\Counter-Strike 1.6 or C:\Valve\half-life) 4. create a shortcut of the file "hl.exe" (found in one of the folders listed above), and run it with these parameters: -console -numericping -game SvenCoop (right click the shortcut, click properties, in the shortcut tab under target, type -console -numericping -game SvenCoop after the quotes. (ie: "C:\Program Files\Counter-Strike 1.6\hl.exe" -console -numericping -game SvenCoop or "C:\Valve\half-life\hl.exe" -console -numericping -game SvenCoop 5. click "apply" and "ok" and run the shortcut
Congratulations! you now have Sven Co-Op running with a nonsteam release of half-life.
I hope this helps everyone out!
thanks,
